With songs such as “Sound of Silence”, “The Boxer” and “Bridge over Troubled Water” the US-American duo Simon & Garfunkel created poetic hymns for a lifetime. The duo Graceland intensively emulates the musical spirit of its idols with the program “A Tribute to Simon & Garfunkel”. With their current project Thomas Wacker (Paul Simon) and Thorsten Gary (Art Garfunkel) perform together with a string quartet as well as band and impressively prove: Classics of the probably most successful folk rock duo in the world perfectly harmonize with the sound of a string ensemble.
The interaction of both voices and two guitars together with classical instruments makes the songs of Simon & Garfunkel become an exceptional music experience. The number of audience speaks for itself. For many years the two musicians successfully tour throughout Europe; sometimes as a duo, sometimes with a classical string quartet and a couple times a year even with a 52-headed orchestra. Accordingly, an evening with Graceland is not only recommended for nostalgists. The great timeless music of Simon & Garfunkel, interpreted by excellent musicians with their own sound, appeals to music lovers of any age group.
